
Gerard Salmon has recently retired from 40 years in public service (Sergeant, New York State Police; and Investigator, Texas Health and Human Services Commission). Gerry is an accomplished naturalist and has published widely in herpetology and related natural sciences. He has also worked as an endangered species consultant on large scale construction projects (specifically with timber rattlesnakes and several
species of protected turtles). Gerry is a curator on the iNaturalist platform, scientific paper and book reviewer, and volunteer curatorial assistant in several museum collections. He is a board member on three non-profit educational herpetological enterprises (International Herpetological Symposium, Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research and SnakeDays). Gerry and his family reside in the Hill Country of Central Texas. He travels widely doing research in the Chihuahuan Desert region and surrounding sky islands.
